Two weeks out from the platform, every single variable is measured in grams, kilos, and recovery minutes. But the hardest battles aren't physical—they're existential.

When you strip away the noise, what keeps you moving when the outcome isn't guaranteed?

This week, we pull from Runeterra's deepest lore to examine one of my long-time mains: Mordekaiser, the Iron Revenant (formerly the warlord Sahn-Uzal).

Sahn-Uzal conquered kingdoms under the promise of a glorious hall of gods awaiting him in death. But when his heart stopped, he found no gods, no feast, and no kingdom—only silence, drifting fog, and fading souls.

Faced with the ultimate void of broken expectations, he didn't surrender to despair. Through pure, immovable will, he refused to fade. He bound his soul into cold iron and resolved to forge the kingdom he was denied out of the dust of the dead.

🗡️ Prompt of the Week — League of Legends Edition

"In the world beyond, blackened ichor filled a crumbling sky, as souls withered into nothing. But I did not. I refused to fade."
— Mordekaiser, the Iron Revenant

The Prompt:

⚔️
Reflect on a moment where a deeply held expectation, a system, or an internal promise failed you—leaving you in a void of disappointment or uncertainty.

Did that disillusionment cause you to drift, or did you channel the frustration to forge your own foundation and absolute self-reliance?

✨ Reflection Spotlight: The Broken Expectation

Here’s where that prompt led me:

"In August 2025, I tipped the scale at just over 200 pounds. Frustrated and disconnected from my physical standards, I locked in: dropped 30 pounds, tracking every calorie, and reclaiming control. Months of brutal consistency. When I finally hit 170 pounds, I felt invincible. The mission was complete.

Then came the void.

I transitioned into a lean muscle-building phase. But with intentionally higher calories came loosened constraints. 'Wiggle room' quickly turned into rationalization. I made excuse after excuse to step off the meal plan—justifying late-night DoorDash deliveries and unplanned sweets multiple times a week. Within months, I put 10 pounds back on. The old feeling of self-disappointment crept right back in.

The system hadn't failed; my mindset had. I mistook an arbitrary outcome for permanent mastery. The moment external rigidity loosened, I drifted.

I didn't waste time drowning in guilt. I treated the setback like cold data. I stripped away processed foods, re-anchored my daily nutrition around nutrient-dense whole foods, and rebuilt my relationship with satiety. When the initial expectation shattered, I stopped waiting for motivation to save me and forged a sustainable discipline that couldn't be derailed by an open kitchen."

💡 The 3-Part Iron Realm Check

  • Identify the Void: What goal, outcome, or system did you think would solve everything, only to leave you feeling aimless once you arrived?
  • Audit the Drift: Where have loosened constraints or rationalizations allowed old habits to quietly reclaim territory?
  • Forge Your Anchor: What is one non-negotiable metric or whole-food / operational rule you will lock in today to regain absolute control?
